No major happenings...

Just living life...

The weather has been just gorgeous lately... PERFECT autumn!!  My kind of weather.

We went to the American Girl doll store on Saturday with my SIL & nieces... I LOVE it there.  I got Madalynn's Christmas present, and I don't know if I'll be able to wait the 3 months until Christmas to give it to her...  I just love their dolls.

Yesterday was Sunday which means football, and I must say my Patriots have me nervous.  I'm keeping the faith though that their defense will find it's groove, and Tom Brady will get back into his zone.   In Bill we trust!!

Madalynn was all decked out for the day, and learned the sign for touchdown (although she didn't need it as the Patriots never saw the end zone).

More playing with my camera, and a daughter who will NOT cooperate.

She's getting so expressive, and I don't know how many times a day I hear 'Whatch you doin Mummy?'.  Last night I was getting her ready for bed, and realized I'd forgotten to buy bigger onesies earlier that day at Target, and I said

"Oh, Mommy forget to get you onesies today at Target"

To which she responded by cocking her head, and saying "Its OK Mummy", and giving me a hug. I hope she's always so forgiving of my mistakes.

Then another night after getting her jammies on, she stood up on the changing table, took both my hands with hers, and said 'Nice a meach you', and then we both got belly laughing.  Her goofy spirit makes me laugh everyday.

She is also VERY good at being 2, and has an uncanny ability NOT to listen.  Which does try my patience at times in ways I didn't expect, but it's all part of parenting which is 100% on the job training.  Thank goodness for 'Supernanny', and her tips!!  I pray I can balance her boundaries without crushing her spirit.  Lord give me wisdom.

We will never forget.... thank you to all who ran toward danger that day, and all who continue to do so today... freedom isn't free.

Prayers

Please pray for the people of Guatemala see this story . If you want to help there are several wonderful organizations doing great work to help these people. Additionally, please pray that a way would be open for Guatemala adoptions to resume. It breaks my heart to think of these children suffering knowing that there are international families willing, able, and ready to give them loving homes.

Catching Up... reconnecting with an old friend....

Okay, my last post I promised to update on our recent adventures (I know you're all waiting with breath that is baited)...And I'm going against my nature & posting out of order.    WARNING... TONS of pictures...

Lately, I've been reconnecting with an old friend... my camera...800px-K10D (I'd post a pic of my ACTUAL camera, but I don't have one & don't have the energy right now to go take one, and upload it & post, so this stock photo will have to do).  Anyway... I've enjoyed photography since elementary school.  It was one hobby my grandfather & I shared.  I'll never forget him teaching me about composition... lessons I've carried with me my whole life.  I have some of his old cameras too that are treasures to me.  So I've always loved photography, but the last year and half my photos have been all about Madalynn, and they will continue to be, but often times at events I've been so distracted with her that I haven't had time to take pictures like I used to.  Let alone take some of my still life, architecture, landscapes, etc.  For whatever reason the last few weeks my passion has come back, and I'm LOVING it.

So, this is what we've been up to the last few weeks... (It's Sept 7th & I've taken 442 pictures)

My niece & nephew went back to school last week... they looked so grown up in their uniforms... This is Madalynn at their house to see them off that morning (much more interested in the Munchkin's Ga-Ga brought).

Madalynn has discovered corn on the cob, and would eat 2 ears per sitting if I'd let her...

Then this past Friday I took her to a local lake... I'm sure I've mentioned before I'm not real outdoorsy so this was a big undertaking for me.  Thankfully the water near the shore of the lake was clear to the bottom, and she loved playing in the sand, and seeing the fish...(another day she REFUSED to look at the camera)

This deserted road you had to walk down from the parking lot to the lake creeped me out a little bit

Okay... this was the day I really started playing with my camera, and reading the manual to discover ALL that it could do... it's like having a new toy...
