Second, it's my parents 41st anniversary!! Happy anniversary Mom & Dad!!
My poor baby girl has a fever of 102.5!! I feel so bad for her. I called the doctor this evening as her breathing sounded funny, and they said to bring her right in (my dr is easily 30 minutes away without traffic, and this was rush hour).
Soooo...I drove fast to get there, and couldn't understand why other drivers got in my way... didn't they know I had a sick baby in the car?? She fell asleep in the car, and she was OUT, which freaked me out. The dr thinks shes fine, just a virus that needs to run its course... I'm sure Mommy will have a long night though.
Why did God choose to bless me with this amazing baby girl???
I just adore her!!!
Taking time to stop & smell the flowers (actually about 2 seconds after I snapped this picture she opened her mouth to eat them)
First she climbed into the basket, and then up on to the chest, and took a seat...
Rocks are fun aren't they?? (and tasty... yes she tried to put them in her mouth).
I borrowed this from another blog I check regularly (I hope you don't mind Darcy :-)!!
I think in life we're all going to face challenges, and struggles, and I think a big part of dealing with those challenges, and struggles is our own perspective. So in that line of thinking I decided to post what I'm thankful for to help my perspective...
1) I'm thankful I have a job that enables me to provide for myself, and my daughter.
2) I'm thankful for what I refer to as our 'cozy' house. Each night when we pull in our garage (another thing I'm thankful for) I say to Madalynn are we at our cozy house? To which she responds with a big grin, and claps her little hands.
3)I'm thankful for the family God gave me, and am humbled he blessed with them.
4)I'm thankful to have been born in America.
6)I'm thankful for fall my favorite time of year!! Pumpkins, cozy sweaters, apple picking, baking, Patriots season starting, cooking comfort food, wearing sweats to bed under cozy covers.
5) I'm thankful for the baby girl sleeping down the hall.
I'm still here... sorry I've been remiss in my blogging... I still have my burdens, but God has given me peace... I still don't have answers, or solutions but I do have peace. He is faithful.
Not much going on with baby girl & I. We had a small get- together over the weekend with some friends I haven't seen in a long time, and who have never met Madalynn. It was very nice catching up, and seeing good friends.
My daughter did end up giving a hug to 2 year old Israel, knocking him to the ground, and then planting a big kiss on him... It was pretty cute.
I found my Winnie the Pooh collection in the basement one day while Madalynn was sleeping, and I had them all set up on the chair for when she woke up... she was marginally impressed, and still prefers her Pooh. I'll post a picture of her Pooh sometime... he reminds me of the Velveteen Rabbit.
BTW- Pats are 2-0!!!
I try to keep this blog light, and focused on the adventures of my baby girl but, tonight I'm feeling burdened. It's at these time the longing for a spouse is the strongest.
Someone in college (who was on the cusp of getting engaged at the age of 20 by the way), once told me to 'Let Jesus be your husband'. I've never fully grasped that concept, and don't know that I fully agree with it. I know God is sovereign, and has promised to meet all of my needs.
However, when I'm worried, and burdened like tonight it would be nice to have the physical presence of a man to hold me, reassure me, say 'it's going to be okay', and tell me this is our plan to get through.
(Let me just post-script this by saying I'm not naive enough to think that marriage is a fix to all problems, and not all husbands would respond in the way I've played this scenario out, and I fully realize there are women out there who are quite lonely in their marriage).
Okay... so the good is the Pats won their season opener 17-10!!
The bad... something all of Patriot nation NEVER wants to see... Tom Brady not getting up after a hit...Oyyyyyy..... there's speculation it will be a season ending injury....Oyyyyy....
Now the adorable... the newest member of Patriot nation all decked out for game day!!

Pats kick off their 2008 season today!!! whooo-hoooo!!! one of my favorite days of the year!!!
Madalynn has her jersey ready to go... i hope to do a photo shoot before kick-off & i'll update later...
GOOOOOO PATS!!!
It was 6 months ago today that Madalynn & I became a forever family. The time has flown. It seems like she's always been here... I guess that's because she's always been in my heart. I just adore this baby girl!!
This picture was 6 months ago today when I was with her foster Mom for the final drop off.
