Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! This is a very special Thanksgiving obviously being Madalynn's first one home.
My mind has wandered so many times this week back to a year ago when I was at a hotel in Guatemala City spending time with my daughter for the second time.
This is a picture from that trip...
That was a 4 month old baby... now I have a 16 month old who's been home almost 9 months, and continues to fill my heart with joy.
I went in to check on her sleeping the other day, and stood over her crib watching her sleep, and I couldn't stop the tears... my heart burst with thankfulness to my heavenly Father who saw fit to bless me with this spunky, sweet, goofy, muy independent baby girl!! She is my heart.

Oh, I remember that pic as if it were yesterday! I am overwhelmed with gratitude for my little one, too. He saw us thru...made a way out of no way...and brought our babies home. What a mighty God we serve! Happy Thanksgiving from our home to yours! We love you both, Esther y Avaree
Another single mom checking in. I knew you would share my joy this Thanksgiving. This will be Sophia & my first Thanksgiving together. After a 13+ month journey from referral day to home, during which some days I didn't know if she would make it through the ever changing process (she was one of only 5 children left), I too give thanks every day that God chose this little girl for me. She is such a perfect fit. She will be baptized this weekend so that adds more joy to the holiday weekend.
