Christmas was so special this year. I can't pinpoint exactly why, but it was just wonderful. I'm so sad it's over, and I'm dreading the clean-up that lies ahead.
Christmas Eve we went to mass at my brother's church as my niece & nephew were singing in the choir. I told my Mom there is nothing sweeter on Christmas Eve than hearing children's voices singing Christmas hymns. This is the only shot I got of Madalynn that you can see all of her dress & it's a terrible picture.... so bummed, she was dancing to the music coming out of Snoopy behind her.
The Christmas shoes...
Putting the animals from her Little People nativity under her dress...
Ready for bed reading the passage in Luke with Ga-Ga telling the Christmas story.
Of course we left out cookies, and egg nog for Santa, and a carrot for Rudolph. I actually had to get Madalynn back out of bed to do this b/c I forgot.
Christmas morning Madalynn took about an hour and a half to open her presents (not because there was that many but because she took her time). My parents arrived around 7am, and got to see her come out & see what Santa had left her.
My parents got her an indoor roller coaster... it's so cute. A 10 foot track, and she goes about another 5 feet past the end. This had been wrapped in the basement for over a week, and she'd seen it a few times so she knew it was there... it's such fun... I think her cousins will have a ball on it too. The pictures are a little fuzzy as it's fast...
After Ga-Ga & Grandpa left we had a few hours before we had to be at there house for Christmas with the rest of the family. Madalynn watched Charlie Brown Christmas in her bean bag chair with her 2 new dollies.
More fun & presents at Ga-Ga & Grandpa's house.
Watching her cousin go sledding... I forgot to pack her snow gear...
"Merry Christmas Everybody!!!"
As we were having dinner Christmas night I looked out the window, and saw it was lightly snowing... just a dusting, but it was so nice. Christmas morning I got overwhelmed with emotion (AGAIN)... Madalynn was in the living room playing with her new toys with Grandpa, I was in the kitchen making breakfast with my Mom, and aunt, listening to Christmas music. I just looked at my Mom crying and said "THIS is Christmas".
I hope you all had a wonderful blessed Christmas.
